What's Happening

October 20 - Labor Law Workshop
The Fox Cities Workforce Development Center will host a Labor Law Workshop for employers. The event will be held at Liberty Hall in Kimberly, from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Registration begins at 8:00 am. The cost to attend is $77 per person. Price includes continental breakfast; refreshments at breaks; buffet lunch; handouts for all presentations on the agenda; plus other DWD handouts.

Experts from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will cover four topics of interest to area employers. Although not yet finalized, topics that will likely be included are: 

  • An Overview of Wisconsin Labor Standards Laws
  • Deciding Who Is Eligible for Unemployment Insurance Benefits
  • Defining Misconduct Under Wisconsin's Unemployment Insurance Laws
  • Workplace Harassment
